Daily Prayer Guide for ServeFest

Sundays – Ask God to Call our Churches to the Ministry of Jesus
In Luke 4:18-21, Jesus quoted Isaiah 61:1-2, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.” Pray that the focus of ServeFest be the Christlike acts of kindness and love in Jesus’ name, that others may see Him and not us.
Mondays – Pray for Unity
Pray for unity of heart, mind and purpose for all churches and individuals who participate in ServeFest (Philippians 2:1-4). May this year’s ServeFest be about all of us in Christ and not any one of us. Pray that we will work together as one body in the Lord (1 Corinthians 12:12-28). Pray that as the church comes together, the world would know how much God loves them and that He sent His Son.
Tuesdays – Pray for Leaders
Pray for our Church Partners, our Community Partners, and our overall ServeFest leadership team. Ask for protection, wisdom, strength, and servant attitudes (Colossians 4:2-3 and Ephesians 6:10-18).
Wednesdays – Pray for our Walks to be Strengthened to do the Work of Service
Pray that the aroma of Christ will flow from the volunteers as they blanket this city with the love of Christ. Pray that each of us would bathe in His love and grace and draw our strength from Him in everything we do (Philippians 4:13). Pray that the fruit of the spirit would flow from us as a result of drawing near to Him (Galatians 5:22-23).
Thursdays – Pray for Families, Schools, the Elderly and the Sick
Pray for all participating churches that scores of new disciples will take up their light and illuminate the lives of children and adults throughout Columbus (Matthew 5:13-16). Pray for God’s favor on all the children and schools in our community. Ask God to mobilize His people in large numbers to mentor, provide spiritual direction, and work to ensure a good education for all children in the community. Pray for the widow and the fatherless (James 1:27).
Fridays – Pray for our Communities in Need
Pray that families in our communities in need could find job opportunities, health care and affordable housing. Pray for the homeless and the hungry. Ask God to bring justice to those who are oppressed (Isaiah 58:6-12). Pray for our Community Partners who are living and ministering in these neighborhoods. Pray for God’s protection and blessing for your neighborhood and the neighborhoods we will serve (Mark 12:29-31).
Saturdays – Pray for the Service Projects
Pray that every service project will be a “beginning of relationship” and not an end in itself. Pray for individual Christians to connect with individual people. Pray for school leaders, the children, and their families, for each neighborhood resident we are able to touch with Christ’s love, and for new believers and opportunities to share the gospel (John 13:34-35, I John 3:16-20).
